BUILT AROUND YOUR SHIPMENT

MORE CONFIDENCE.
THROUGHOUT THE JOURNEY.

We organise cargo insurance as part of your transport plan. We assess the goods, their value, packing, route and handling stages to arrange appropriate protection against insured loss or damage during transit.

You have one point of contact for the transport and insurance arrangements. We coordinate the information and documentation before dispatch, explain the agreed cover and support the notification and documentation of a claim if an incident occurs.

Cover for your cargo

The insurance is arranged around the commodity, declared value, packing and specific handling requirements.

All transport modes

Sea, air, road and rail movements can be included in the agreed scope, including multimodal journeys.

Clear policy terms

Before confirmation, we clarify the insured risks, sum insured, deductible, exclusions and period of cover.

Single shipments and regular flows

We organise insurance around a single shipment or discuss an arrangement for recurring cargo movements.

Special cargo requirements

Temperature-sensitive, high-value and oversized cargo require the relevant conditions to be assessed and expressly agreed.

Claims coordination

We coordinate the shipment records, incident notification and supporting documents needed for the insurer’s assessment.

GOOD QUESTIONS.
CLEAR ANSWERS.

What insurance cover is available?

Depending on the cargo and insurer’s terms, cover may be based on Institute Cargo Clauses A, B or C, with additional clauses agreed where needed. The selected scope is stated in the policy.

Does “all risks” mean every possible loss is covered?

No. Broad cover also has exclusions and conditions. We clarify the proposed terms before the policy is confirmed.

Is cargo insurance the same as carrier liability?

No. Cargo insurance and carrier liability have different scopes and conditions. We discuss cargo cover separately when planning the shipment.

What happens if cargo is damaged?

Notify BML promptly, record visible damage in the delivery documents and retain photographs, packaging and shipment records. We coordinate the next steps according to the policy requirements.
